Omaha, Mike O'Keefe's CT Angels finished 7 out of 48 teams from around the country. "The experience these kids got, we couldn't of asked for anything more. They played their hearts out, didn't commit an error in 4 games, and played against kids that where two years older than ours. I'm so proud of the way we played as a team. The intensity was there from the first pitch to the last pitch in the last game". The Angels lost a tough one against Texas 7-6.
"They battled today; we came across a team that could swing the bats a little. A grand slam was the difference in this one. Our kids are able to leave Omaha, knowing they played their best baseball. We told them there would be college coaches and scouts at the games, and there were. It’s nice when they approach me as a coach, and ask about our players. One Scout couldn't believe our kids are only sophomores in High School. "I didn't know the level of baseball in CT was that good". I told our kids it’s an honor to have someone say that about you. "It was a very fun and entertaining time. Not only was the baseball outstanding, but theoverall experience was great. We faced the stiffest competition that I've seen, and played our hearts out to see where we matched up against the best around the country. Between the time we spent playing together and the recreational time and fun we had, we really bonded as a team, and that in itself is enough to make me want to come again. Throw in the baseball, right around the college World Series time, and you're living life the best way a ball player can." 1st Baseman/Pitcher John Costello
“I had a great time in Omaha. Being able to go to the College World Series was an absolute amazing experience and I would love to go year after year. Also, the actual baseball tournament that we came to play was yet another great experience and one I will be talking about for some time. The competition that we faced was top notch and some of the best I've ever seen. I would not hesitate to say that this was one of the best tournaments that I have ever played in. I would love to come back next year to prove ourselves to the rest of the country that Connecticut has some great baseball players." - Pitcher/3rd Baseman Dan Bradley
