Mikes Tip Of The Month:
Mike O'Keefe (Coach):
If you find yourself struggling at the plate, a lot of times we are not using our lower half enough and getting the drive we are capable of. Head or shoulder pulling out comes from the lower half not getting enough direction through the ball. If you feel that this may be happening to you, there are drills you can practice.
Small bat fall down, front to back weight shift and off centered front toss. Approach in the game should either be middle or middle away.
Scott Berney (Coach):
Pitchers should be long tossing at least four times per week. Long throwing is the best way to build arm strength. When throwing longer
distances, keep shoulders square and throw ball on a line to the target. High School age pitchers should be throwing 25 throws at least
125 feet while 13 and under should be throwing 90 feet.
